St. Michael Reordering
Our project vision:
To create a welcoming and accessible space that inspires personal growth, deepens connection, and strengthens our sense of community—so that all who enter may discover meaning, belonging, and support. Through this transformation, we aim to serve both our congregation and the wider community, offering a place of hope and unity for everyone.
Missional Impact:
This project will:
-
Enable more inclusive worship, particularly for those with mobility needs
-
Support growth in community engagement, hospitality, and outreach
-
Allow the church to host a wider range of activities, ministries and partnerships
-
Strengthen the church’s role as a visible and welcoming presence in the parish
The reordering is not simply about the building, but about enabling the church to serve its community more effectively in Christ’s name.
What We Need to Do
We are planning to:
-
Replace fixed pews with flexible seating
-
Level the floors for safe, step-free access
-
Make the building easier to use for people of all ages and abilities
We already have full approval to carry out the work.
We are ready to begin.
Funding Request
We are seeking funding of approximately £225,000–£230,000 to deliver both phases of the project, including core reordering works, professional fees, and appropriate contingency. Both phases prioritise essential improvements, with additional elements such as heating.
A prayer
I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly- John 10:10
Lord, teach me to be generous. Teach me to serve you as you deserve; to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labour and not to ask for reward, save that of knowing that I do your will. Amen
