Church Vision Statement:
Discover God, Embrace Yourself, Connect with Others!
(Finding God, Yourself and others)
Our vision is for everyone who worships with us to have a real encounter with God, to better understand themselves, and to build strong, meaningful relationships within our community.
INTRODUCTION
This Vision was shaped with care and prayer, guided by God and the wisdom of our St. Michael Shelf with St. Aidan Buttershaw family.
We are united by one essential mission: to bring glory to God. Inspired by the Westminster Shorter Catechism, we affirm that our primary purpose is "to glorify God and enjoy Him forever."
God is worthy of all praise, and one day, every human being will bow before our Lord and King Jesus (Philippians 2:9-11). While we await God's kingdom, our mission as a church is to honour God in all we say and do, to hold Jesus in the highest esteem, and to ensure His leadership in every part of our lives. Jesus promised that when we lift Him up and give Him His rightful place, He will draw people to Himself (see John 12:32).
Though we cherish our ties to the wider Church and to global missions, our hearts are first set on our own community. Our calling begins with making disciples in Shelf, Buttershaw, and nearby neighbourhoods.
Let us hold our actions up to the Vision we believe God has placed before us. As we pray, learn, worship, and serve side by side, may we all be inspired and devoted to this calling.
