Meet The Team

Chris grew up in Southeast Nigeria and has cherished the adventurous business nature of most people in the area.  After over a decade of university training and Christian ministry in Northern Nigeria, he perceived a call across his culture. This curiosity led him to come to Gloucester in England to study Applied theology in a cross-cultural context. After his training, he engaged in pioneering ministry and later felt the call to the Church of England. He trained for ordination in the Church of England. He studied theology and Mission in Nottingham. He was ordained in Worcester Diocese, where he spent four years as a curate, then serving in a church in Cradley Heath and Dudleywood.

Chris was interim minister at a church in Tipton before coming to Shelf with Buttershaw. He is also an Associate leader of Fountain Church Bradford. One of his favourite Bible passages is “No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven" (Philippians 3:13-14)
